The Droolius Style Cheeseburger Recipe featured on FabioViviani.com

Today, my friend Chef Fabio Viviani, is featuring my burger recipe on his website and magazine. For those who keep up with this blog, I last saw Fabio in Miami during SOBEWFF where he taught me how to make gnocchi and we filmed an interview. In return I wrote a burger recipe for him, using the ingredients that I like and the way I make my burgers at home. From Fabio’s magazine:   Since Top Chef All Stars, Fabio has been creating some great burger recipes for his web show Chow Ciao!, veggie burgers on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, and recently was recognized for his burger at Siena Tavern in Chicago (his newest restaurant). Fabio is a burger-making machine these days. So in honor of Fabio and National Hamburger Month, I present the following photos for The Droolius Style Cheeseburger. You can find my recipe on Fabio’s website: http://fabioviviani.com/blog/fabios-friends-julius-mayo-jr-droolius/   (click image to enlarge) The Droolius Style Cheeseburger – half pound burger with fontina cheese, garlic mayonnaise, thick sliced smoked bacon, baby arugula, topped with …

RECIPE: Baked Red Velvet Donuts with Candied Bacon Topping

I have always wanted to combine Red Velvet donuts with bacon for some reason. It’s not too much of a stretch. You can find chocolate covered bacon being sold, as well as bacon donuts, and they both seem to be a hit around the U.S. I’ve tasted both (individually) in the past and I must admit chocolate and bacon pair well together, and so does bacon and donuts. Since Red Velvet donuts are chocolate based, why not top it with candied bacon? It was an idea I just had to do and after doing some research on how to make donuts at home, I decided to go for it.   (click image to enlarge) Baked Red Velvet Donut with Candied Bacon I actually made these “bacon donuts” for the CFL Food Blogger Bake Sale last weekend, hoping the public would “get it” and enjoy these sweet and savory donuts. Everyone seemed to like the combination and I received positive feedback. I’ve received several tweets and a few emails about the recipe, so I’m posting …

Canadian Cheddar Cheese Soup Recipe

Droolius can cook! Yes I really can, and I’ve decided to recreate a restaurant inspired dish once a month and post up the recipe and photos. So for this month’s recipe I’ve recreated Canadian Cheddar Cheese Soup, my favorite dish to eat at the Epcot Food & Wine Festival.   (click image to enlarge) Every year my favorite #1 dish to eat at the Epcot Food & Wine Festival is the Canadian Cheddar Cheese Soup. This soup is available year round at the Le Cellier Steakhouse which is located at Epcot’s World Showcase Canada. I do not make it to Epcot that often so I really crave this soup. So I decided to make it at home, this being my first recipe on this blog.   (click image to enlarge) From Epcot World Showcase at Canada – Canadian Cheddar Cheese Soup The recipe for Canadian Cheddar Cheese Soup can be found online, in a few variations. My interpretation will be a little more heartier and combines what I’ve found and I’ve adjusted a few things …
