Authentic Irish Celebration at Mighty St. Patrick’s Festival at Raglan Road Irish Pub & Restaurant at Disney Springs

When celebrating St. Patrick’s Day, forget eating cabbage and corned beef or drinking green beer. Those are not authentic or traditional Irish food or drinks to celebrate Saint Patrick’s day. Instead, celebrate like the Irish at the Mighty St. Patrick’s Festival at Raglan Road Irish Pub & Restaurant at Disney Springs. The Mighty Festival just started on Friday, March 11th and runs for seven days until the big St. Patrick’s Day celebration on Thursday, March 17, 2016. Plenty of time to drink pints of Guinness, eat authentic Irish food and experience live music entertainment and dancers straight from Ireland.   (click image to enlarge) The menu features cuisine by Irish celebrity chef and PBS/Create TV personality Kevin Dundon. Last year I shared my experience from Ireland on our Raglan Road Trip with Chef Kevin. Experiencing the way he creates Irish classics with a modern twist translates into the Irish menu at Raglan Road and is a must try during the Mighty St. Patrick’s Festival. The dinner menu features a special dish, loin of bacon and …

Urbain 40 American Brasserie & Lounge in Orlando, FL

Urbain 40 American Brasserie is one of the newest restaurants in Orlando and it has quickly made its mark to be one of the new must-try dining destinations in the area. The theme of Urbain 40 is the 1940’s era, from the atmosphere to the hand-crafted cocktails, with live music from the Big Band era being performed. The interior is classy, the ambiance is approachable and welcoming, and it gives a nod to Florida in the decor. The food is American cuisine with French influences by Chef Jean-Stephane Poinard, a native of Lyon, France. The menu features a range of meat and seafood dishes, with lunch and dinner currently being offered. A brunch and late night menu are in the works.   (click image to enlarge) Elderflower Martini The lounge at Urbain 40 specializes in cocktails, from classics like an Old Fashioned or a Manhattan, to creative “Big City Cocktails.” That evening we sampled two specialty cocktails, a Cucumber Mint Gimlet and the Elderflower Martini.   (click image to enlarge) Truffled Mushroom – Roasted Garlic …

Droolius’ Top 7 Favorites of January 2016

I wanted to start a new blog series this year and thought that a monthly Top 7 Favorites of what I ate was a good start. Why Top 7? Mainly because it’s hard to just choose my favorite 5 dishes for the month and 10 dishes might be too much. So, Top 7 it is! This month I spent the entire time in Atlanta, the city where I’m working now. I’ve been going back and forth between Orlando and Atlanta in the past few months, so I’m getting to explore food in both cities. Here’s my favorite dishes from January, in the order of when the food was eaten, not by rank.   click to enlarge Cheeseburger and fries at Holeman and Finch Public House, Atlanta, GA This was my first time having the infamous Holeman and Finch cheeseburger at the actual restaurant and it was very impressive. I ate it first at Burger Bash during South Beach Wine & Food Festival in 2014, then at H&F Burger at Ponce City Market last year. Both …

Shake Shack Debuts The Chick’n Shack Sandwich Today Nationwide

Exciting news from ShakeShack today as they are debuting their new chicken sandwich and it’s called the Chick’n Shack. The Chick’n Shack is a crispy chicken breast (100% all-natural and antibiotic-free) with lettuce, pickles, buttermilk herb mayo (chives, parsley and thyme) and served on a potato roll.   (Image courtesy of Shake Shack) The description sounds so good and I’m looking forward to trying it. I remember seeing this on social media last summer being served at their Brooklyn locations and wondered if and when it would be released to the rest of us. The good news is the Chick’n Shack is available nationwide today (except for NYC’s Theater District Shack, JFK Airport Shacks and stadium Shacks, according to Shake Shack). Check out all of the info on Shake Shack about the Chick’n Shack and its concept on Shake Shack’s website. What do you think about Shake Shack launching their own Chicken Sandwich? Are you planning try this today? Let me know what you think of it in the comments below.   Shake Shack www.shakeshack.com …
