The Croissant Donut at Epcot — Disney’s version of the Cronut

Remember last year when the infamous Cronut was the food item to have? Well, Walt Disney World has it’s own version at Epcot now and it’s called Croissant Donut. This new dessert snack was announced last December 2013 on the Disney Parks Blog and I finally got a chance to try it the other day. How does it taste? It tastes great!   (click image to enlarge) I usually do not put text on photo, but it’s so you all can pin it on Pinterest and share. Please do not steal my photo or chop it up and use it for your marketing material! Sadly, this has happened to me again. So please, give credit where credit is due. Feel free to share and linking back is appreciated.   (click image to enlarge) The Croissant Donut is only available at one location: at the Refreshment Port, on the right side as you enter Epcot’s World Showcase. There are no crazy lines here, but I think once the word get’s out more about the Croissant Donut, …

Food Blog Forum Orlando at Disney World – Conference Recap

A little over a week ago, food bloggers and speakers from around the country gathered for the Food Blog Forum Orlando 2012, hosted at the Walt Disney World Resort. This was my second year to attend this conference. From last year going in and not knowing anyone in the food blogging community, to this year reuniting with familiar faces and making some new friends. The food blog community is a very supportive bunch, passionate about their craft, eager to help and learn from one another. The conference had the same affect as last year, rejuvenating myself with blogging, learning techniques, and networking with great people. We were all over Disney that weekend, staying at the Polynesian Resort, attending an opening reception at the Grand Floridian Resort, the conference and evening dessert reception both at Epcot. I took many photos during the conference weekend and the following are the results. Keeping my words to a minimum (sort of), I will let the photos tell the story. *Make sure to click all horizontal photos to see larger …

Epcot Food & Wine Festival 2010 – Droolius Highlights

The year has quickly come to a close and 2010 has been a great one. Before we end the year we want to share some of our experiences at the 15th Annual Epcot International Food & Wine Festival. For now here’s the highlights from this year’s festival of some food, drinks, and a “Eat to the Beat” concert with Boyz II Men. Meatball Bar at Portobello – Orlando, FL

In Orlando or visiting Walt Disney World Resort and need an inexpensive meal outside the theme parks? How about some meatball sliders? No need to break the bank to eat well when you can dine at Meatball Bar inside the Portobello restaurant at Downtown Disney. (click image to enlarge) In the center of the Portobello restaurant you can sit at the bar or grab a high top table and order these delicious meatball sliders. Its open seating in the bar area so walk into Portobello and go straight to the Meatball bar and look for open chairs. In the evening it may be busy and a short wait, but it beats waiting for a table with a long wait in the general dining room. (click image to enlarge) The Meatball Bar serves more than just meatballs, so a bar menu offering a little variety is available to those wanting more. We came here for the meatball sliders and beer, so no menu needed for our table. After ordering they brought out some bread with a …

Food & Wine festival – A continuation of 2009 Food, Wine & Beer

This is the continuation of the 2009 Epcot International Food & Wine festival coverage. Pictured here are more of the festival’s food along with wine and beer images. There’s so much to eat and drink that even going on 2 different days last year was a challenge to taste everything, but we attempted to and took many food photos in the process. The previous blog post 2010 Intro & Droolius’ Top 10 Food of 2009 featured just our Top 10 food picks, while this post serves as a mini guide to more food with the beer and wine photos. The festival has many types of food, wine, and beer being offered each year and while some countries and food remain consistent, changes are made in the line up on which countries they have kiosks for. This year for 2010, the Food & Wine festival adds Belgium, South Korea & a station for Charcuterie and Cheese to the line up, while India, Austria, New Orleans & Thailand did not make it back. Some of these countries …
