New Cocktail Launches During Great Irish Hooley at Raglan Road Orlando

I stopped by Raglan Road at Disney Springs for their Great Irish Hooley celebration. I’ve covered the Great Irish Hooley before and it’s a celebration to mark six months until St. Patrick’s Day. A celebratory drink was a must. I normally go with a pint of Guinness but I was told they launched a new cocktail made with Irish Gin called PJ’s Poison. PJ’s Poison – Gunpowder Irish Gin, housemade orange marmalade, muddled orange, Fever-tree tonic The cocktail was so refreshing! “PJ’s Poison” is made with Gunpowder Irish Gin, housemade orange marmalade, muddled orange, Fever-tree tonic. It’s very easy to drink and a tad dangerous because it’s the perfect refreshment for hot weather. While it was released for the Great Irish Hooley during the Labor Day holiday weekend, Raglan Road plans on keeping it on the drink menu. Drumshanbo Gunpowder Irish Gin It’s always a good time at Raglan Road and this was a nice treat to discover this cocktail at the Hooley. Looking forward to going back again for another PJ’s Poison in the …

Hanson, the popular music band from the 90’s, has created their own Mmmhops Pale Ale beer and debuted it at this year’s 2014 Epcot Food & Wine Festival. The craft beer is named after their hit song, “MMMBop” and is brewed at their Hanson Brothers Beer Company in Tulsa, Oklahoma. This is the first time Mmmhops is available in Florida and the craft beer can be found at the Epcot’s Festival Center. Hanson recently presented Mmmhops at a beverage seminar at the Festival Center to an excited crowd of fans.   (click image to enlarge) The beverage seminar was a talk on how the brothers came up with the beer idea and how they designed this beer to be an introduction to drinking a hoppy beer. The goal was to make it a drinkable full bodied beer with a hoppy flavor, but not go overboard with a hoppy bitter flavor. They were very knowledgable talking about craft beers and brewing, dropping some beer knowledge to the crowd, while keeping it entertaining for the fans. An …

The Croissant Donut at Epcot — Disney’s version of the Cronut

Remember last year when the infamous Cronut was the food item to have? Well, Walt Disney World has it’s own version at Epcot now and it’s called Croissant Donut. This new dessert snack was announced last December 2013 on the Disney Parks Blog and I finally got a chance to try it the other day. How does it taste? It tastes great!   (click image to enlarge) I usually do not put text on photo, but it’s so you all can pin it on Pinterest and share. Please do not steal my photo or chop it up and use it for your marketing material! Sadly, this has happened to me again. So please, give credit where credit is due. Feel free to share and linking back is appreciated.   (click image to enlarge) The Croissant Donut is only available at one location: at the Refreshment Port, on the right side as you enter Epcot’s World Showcase. There are no crazy lines here, but I think once the word get’s out more about the Croissant Donut, …

During the opening weekend of the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival, Chef Carla Hall (from ABC’s The Chew and Bravo’s Top Chef) joined the festival for some cooking demos and cooking an appetizer and a few desserts for the Sweet Sundays event. She also announced that she will be doing something in January with Newsies, a Disney musical on Broadway. Another favorite was the Escargot en Brioche (France marketplace) and she calls it “a popper” — you pop the entire thing into your mouth to get all of the flavors …

Experiencing the Ocean Spray Cranberry Bog at 2013 Epcot International Food & Wine Festival

The Ocean Spray Cranberry Bog Exhibit has returned once again to the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival. To celebrate the Cranberry Bog, Ocean Spray hosted a private event for media, giving us a taste of dishes created with Ocean Spray Craisins and an opportunity for us to get into the bog. This was the only chance to actually get into the cranberry bog during the festival, so here’s my experience to share with you all.   (click image to enlarge) The Ocean Spray Cranberry bog is located near the entrance of Epcot’s World Showcase.   (click image to enlarge) A rack of waders are hanging, waiting for us to put them on and wade through the cranberry bog.   (click image to enlarge) Keeping with the theme of Epcot Food & Wine Festival, Ocean Spray presented a passport of flavors with tables representing cuisines inspired by different countries and using the Craisin in dishes. The Disney chefs got really creative and found some very unique ways to cook with the Craisins.   (click image …
