Guess Who’s back? Melissa’s Chicken and Waffles!

Where’s the Chicken and Waffle Truck? I’ve heard this so many times in the past few weeks, but I’m happy to say they are back! The Melissa’s Chicken and Waffles truck has been missing in action in Orlando, FL due to mechanical engine issues lately. Everything is now fixed up and they ready to serve their popular food at the trucks’s daily location on University and Goldenrod, very close to UCF. The plan is to serve during breakfast and lunch times, take a break to prep more food, then back for dinner. Tentatively they are planning on being open 9am-3pm and 5pm-9pm, parked at the Marathon Gas Station at University and Goldenrod. *No longer at Marathon location. Plans also include getting back into the Food Pod and Food Truck Bazaar events. *Follow them on Twitter @melissaswaffles for the most current locations and times.

The menu can vary on daily specials, but today Thursday August 11, 2011 they will serve: “Breakfast Waffle, Chicken Waffle, Ultimate waffle, Blueberry cheesecake, Smores Waffle and Ro’s Chocolate P-Nut Butter Waffle. Gourmet coffee–cafe Latte, Cafe Mocha, Gourmet Back, and Organic Green Tea.”

The food is very filling and pleases the hungry people of Orlando. Let these photos spark your appetite and make you drool…

Chicken and waffle sandwich – Good seasoned chicken and the gravy is so good. Add some syrup and a splash of hot sauce to kick it up a notch!

Who wouldn’t want this Chicken and waffle sandwich in their hand?

The Chicken and waffle sandwich is a very filling meal. After finishing one (some people can only finish half) I am pretty much full for the rest of the day. If you plan on trying a dessert waffle after your Chicken and waffle sandwich, think about sharing both of them with a friend or two.
