Redesigned Restaurant at Hyatt Regency Orlando International Airport Helps Customers Connect

ORLANDO, Fla. (October 4, 2012) – McCoy’s Bar & Grill at Hyatt Regency Orlando International Airport has reopened following a comprehensive redesign of both the interior and the menu, in conjunction with the restaurant’s 20th anniversary. The result is an unexpected oasis inside the third largest airport in the U.S. featuring a reasonably priced, globally inspired menu and a welcoming environment with generous, diverse seating options.

“Whether you’re waiting for a connecting flight, connecting with traveling family or friends, or needing to connect online, McCoy’s now offers you a place to do it in style and good taste,” explained Pat Engfer, general manager for Hyatt Regency Orlando International Airport. Located inside the main terminal of Orlando International Airport (MCO) on the lobby level of Hyatt Regency Orlando International Airport, the 190-seat restaurant is open daily from 11 a.m. to 1 a.m.

McCoy’s new menu focuses on fresh, locally sourced ingredients to offer an eclectic array of items from flatbreads and sushi to steaks and seafood. Highlights include:
• MCO Traveler’s Trio, a selection of small plates served on a tiered stand and designed for sharing. Popular selections include Thai Chicken Tenders, Empanadas, Pork Carnitas Tacos, Smoked Mozzarella, Baked Brie, Spring Rolls and Lemon Hummus
• A full selection of authentic Japanese sushi including Sashimi, Nigiri, and Maki rolls created by classically-trained Sushi Chef Hiro Masaki in an interactive setting
• House crafted pasta, fresh and handmade daily
• Soup of the season using fresh local and regional ingredients that changes weekly
• Fresh and unique sorbets and ice creams made using the revolutionary Pacojet™ culinary appliance
• Healthy “For Kids By Kids” children’s menu created in collaboration with Alice Waters and the Partnership for a Healthier America. Choices include Whole Wheat Spaghetti and Turkey Meatballs, Salad Kabobs, Organic Yogurt and Fruit Smoothies and Hormone-Free Low-Fat Milk.

The updated menu blends Hyatt’s Food. Thoughtfully Sourced. Carefully Served. global food initiative with the unique needs of airport visitors. “It was exciting to create a new menu that raises the bar for traveling diners while providing sustainable and responsible food and beverage choices,” said David Didzunas, executive chef for Hyatt Regency Orlando International Airport. “There are reasonably-priced food and beverage options for business travelers trying to eat healthy as well as for leisure travelers who want to splurge on a special meal. Regardless, the emphasis is on healthy people, a healthy planet and healthy communities.”

The redesigned 8,000-square-foot restaurant has a hip, ultra-modern look with natural bamboo flooring and day-lighting, dark wood finishes and a soft earth tone color palette that respects the natural beauty of Florida. Other features include a free standing sushi bar; open kitchen concept; high-definition, flat panel televisions; private dining areas; two high-top communal tables fitted with outlets for guests to recharge their communication devices; complimentary Wi-Fi; and a well-stocked bar featuring an extensive selection of wines by the glass that complement the menu, draft and bottled beers, and signature, popular and non-alcoholic beverage options.

In honor of the restaurant’s 20th anniversary and grand reopening, McCoy’s is presenting a complimentary MCO Traveler’s Trio (three small plates) per every two entrees that are ordered. It is a limited time offer and ends 11/30/12. Guests should mention code TRIO3 to their server to receive the offer. Offer cannot be combined with any other offers and additional terms and conditions may apply.

“With the demands of flying commercially today, our plans always include getting to the Orlando airport early enough to have lunch or dinner at McCoy’s before departure. After enjoying crawfish chowder, grilled fresh fish, and a bottle of good chardonnay, it all seems a lot less stressful,” said
Bob Snow, the original developer of Church Street Station in downtown Orlando. Added
Joe Kittinger, retired Air Force Colonel and recipient of the Air and Space Smithsonian Lifetime Achievement in Aviation Award, “McCoy’s Bar & Grill is a delightful dining experience. I have traveled through literally hundreds of airports in my career and McCoy’s is by far my favorite airport restaurant. More than that, it is right up there with the best restaurants in Orlando.”
