Food photography has been a big focus of this blog over the years and I’ve enjoyed speaking and teaching photography at various conferences in the past. I’m very excited to announce that we’re throwing our next Capture the Bite food photography workshop NOW TO BE DETERMINED this November 16-18, 2018 at East End Market in Orlando, FL! We will be covering food photography, food styling and of course eating good food. *EDIT: Capture the Bite Orlando has been postponed to a later date next year in 2019. Due to a combination of scheduling conflicts with interested attendees and being close to the Thanksgiving holiday has made us move the date to accommodate those interested. We will announce a new date, so please stay posted. Thank you for understanding!(updated on Monday, October 15, 2018) I’m teaming up with my friend and photographer colleague, Faith Gorsky of anediblemosaic.com who is a talented cookbook author, food stylist and photographer to host this event. Droolius Chicago Video Part 1

While I was on a trip to Chicago a few weeks ago, I filmed some of my daily food adventures and we have produced the first video from the trip. Droolius Chicago Part 1 is live on the DrooliusFilms YouTube channel and features some of the restaurants and tourist landmarks that my food partner, O.D., and I visited. Check out the video below, it shows us over a span of 2 different days. Video: (The video is filmed in HD, so bump up the YouTube quality to 1080P if you have the bandwidth.) In the video we visit Chicago’s Cloud Gate aka “The Bean” in Millenium Park, then we took a detour to Firecakes for donuts.   (click image to enlarge) Another day we started out celebrating National Doughnut Day with a surprise breakfast to Le’s Pho for Vietnamese food. The family woke us up at 630 a.m. to run some errands and brought us to the restaurant, which was great because I’ve never eaten Pho that early in the morning. Then we found Asian …

Food Photography Tips + How To Edit & Share Food Photos

Earlier this week, the EatSt. blog from Foodnetwork Canada posted an article I wrote about food photography tips. The tips here are for when you are out dining at a restaurant, at a food truck or food cart, or eating any where indoors or outside. This is the continuation of the 2009 Epcot International Food & Wine festival coverage. Pictured here are more of the festival’s food along with wine and beer images. Some of these countries …

Today was National Doughnut Day 2010. We celebrate this great day by getting some free doughnuts and taking some drooling photos. The free doughnut offer was available from Dunkin Donuts and Krispy Kreme, an offer to hard to pass up. Dunking Donuts offered a free doughnut with any beverage purchase, while Krispy Kreme did not require a purchase to be made at all. (click image to enlarge) First stop was Dunkin Donuts… (click image to enlarge) A sour cream doughnut was selected and paired great with an iced coffee. You may wonder and say, “really sour cream??” I can tell you its a moist and tasty doughnut you will enjoy, better than your standard glazed or old fashion types. You just have to try it for yourself and experience it. After finishing up we wasted no time and drove straight to Krispy Kreme to pick up more doughnuts… (click image to enlarge) Krispy Kreme did not require a purchase of a drink, how nice of them! I did purchase a couple more doughnuts because they …
